Black screen problem

is was using my laptop suddenly the power went off once the power came and when i switched on my laptop it came as black screen can you tell me the reason for this problem..?

What operating system is it?

One reason is the video went bad. Without more details and the make and model of the machine, it is hard to offer any assistance.
