Command chkdsk f: /r will Delete File?

Error message prompt " "F\xx is not accessible. The file or directory is corrupted and unreadable" when access some of the folders in USB External Hardisk.
Found the solution in below link, which to run the command, chkdsk f: /r.

But once the command completed run, found all the folders that unable to access were missing in External Hardisk.
How to recover back the deleted folders?
Need your help to settle this issue urgently.

You could try using a tool like Recuva to scan the drive.

Hi,

After run recovery via Recuva, the file names all is unknown and I am not sure the files is it recovery correctly. Recovery can be run many times?
