Dell Touchpad does not work

Hello,

In my  Dell Inspiron N5040 laptop, the touchpad simply does not work. I tried downloading various drivers from various open source sites. No use. The touchpad just doesn't work.

The keyboard works.

Its operating system is Windows 7 Ultimate. 

Will upgrading it to Windows 10 solve the problem? 

After upgrading to Windows 10, will the Dell touchpad work?

I would be grateful if any of you could clear my doubt.

Well you can try to updater using good Driver updater software like Advanced Driver Updater it a great driver updater  so i will suggest you to at least try it one.

Yes updating the windows might be help you but I will suggest you to try the suggestion which I give you before updating the windows.
