Hello,
When I turn on my computer it starts loading, and then stays on the black screen with the white words. It tells me to "Boot From CD" I tried putting a Windows xp disk in but it didn't do anything to help it.Occasionally it recognises that i've put a CD in and says Press any key but that won't work either.

It's been pretty temporamental lately, and occasionally won't start up or it gives me the options to use safe mode or restore to last known good settings, and usually works when I shut the computer down and leave it for a while, but today for some reason it's not starting up or giving me safe mode options or anything.

Searched through a couple of similar threads but most people still have the safe mode options etc..so it wasn't quite the answers I was needing.
Hopefully someone can let me know what to do as I can't really afford to send it to teh computer shop, but will as a last resort.

Any advice would be appreciated,
Thankyou!!

hi there,

go to your bios and see the boot options

make hard disk primary
save and exit

if unable to find it

go to set to default save and exit

then restart your pc normally

remove any floppy if present

Thanks
