Hello, im trying to fix a friends laptop, its a Acer Aspire 5051AWXMI - Windows Vista.
I know little about computers but did manage to fix mine last week when it got a virus using step by step instructions I got off the internet, however this time its not so easy! :(
The laptop seems to have a Virus called 'Virus Protector' which is shutting everything down. When I turn the laptop on the screen is black and all that you can see is 'Virus Protector' scanning the computer, the 'Start menu' is gone and theres no 'Desktop Icons'!
Iv tried accessing in 'Safe Mode' but when I do the screen seems to just zoom in and the Virus is still popping up & scanning, Iv also tried pressing 'FN & F8' as suggested in the ablove replys but still no change!
With out geting the 'Start Menu' back im guessing i cant reslove this problem :(
Would be very very greatful for any help I can get please, Ill try anything??
