Need help! My laptop fails to boot. Last night, I converted my external harddrive (Drive F-corrupted) into dynamic. Then the primary partitions suddenly became an extended partitions (Drive C and Drive D). It goes well until I turned it off.

Now my laptop have boot failure. It says Error 17. What can I do? I don't have a recovery disk with me right now.

Thanks for any help.

Hi there,

Look for a windows installation cd of same os and make a system repair, system recovery cd will delete all your data thus making it new as purchased.

Thanks

But it will mean deleting all my stuff and programs. Are there any other way without losing my files? I think I just need to convert the hard drive into a primary partition instead of extended partition. Anyone knows how to that using grub?
