Hello,

How do I connect the internet to 10 computers using a router and a switch? How many ports should the router have? the switch?

Ten total. Four on the router and 8 on the switch would work (space for 11 PC total)

Thanks. Wondering if I can I do 3 on the router (since the fourth port is connected to the switch) and 9 on the switch (it has up to 16 ports)? How much of a difference will it make?

no difference - with 10 PCs attached might have slow internet access

Do I need a network adapter? I have Windows 98. The way I'm doing it is: 10 lines to the 10 computers are on the switch; the internet is connected to the router and there is one line (using one port) that connects the router to the switch. It worked before but not sure why I can't get it to work again. Thanks.
