Start up begins but not to password screen

Hello,
I have a fairly new mesh computer. Sometimes when i switch it on it starts windows ok, straight to password screen. Other times ( becoming more and more often) the start up begins but does not get to the password screen. It can take up to 6/7 times before it will show this screen.
Any ideas?
