Black screen appears after compaq logoClosed

Hello, i have a compaq presario v2000 laptop and it wont execute windows, it turn on but after the compaq logo appears the screen stays black.  Its still on but stays black can someone help pls.  Thanks 



Configuration: Windows XP / Internet Explorer 7.0
