You are stuck with that "stupid new system". Windows XP will not install on your laptop because it lacks the software to support the new types of hardware that is on the motherboard. If you try the CD is will not even be able to find the laptops hard disk.
Just get a book on Windows 7 and give it a chance for 2 to 3 weeks.
