Probably your files would have been hidden

Try this

Click on the below link and download the file "AutorunExterminator"

https://ccm.net/downloads/security-and-maintenance/5911-autorun-exterminator/

Extract it --> Double-click on "AutorunExterminator" -

This will remove the autorun virus from the drives.

Step 2:

For xp ,go to run and type

cmd and click ok

For vista and 7

Go to start and type

cmd

Now right click on it and select run as administrator

Now run this command

attrib -h -r -s /s /d g:\*.*

where g refers to your external hard drive letter

this should unhide your files

Let me know how it works

Try to format using this tool

https://ccm.net/downloads/tools/4639-hp-usb-disk-storage-format-tool/

Now copy some files, unplug and plug it again .See if that works

Did you try on another PC?

If nothing works your flash drive may be fake

So you did not run the attrib command

For xp ,go to run and type

cmd and click ok

For vista and 7

Go to start and type

cmd

Now right click on it and select run as administrator

Now run this command

attrib -h -r -s /s /d h:\*.*

Open your H drive

On top you have

Tools-folder options

Click on view tab

Scroll down to advanced settings

Select '' show hidden files

Uncheck ''hide protected operating system files

Click ok

Now can you see your files ?

If that doesnt work it is useless trying it

DOwnload

https://ccm.net/downloads/security-and-maintenance/5003-recuva/

See if yo u can retrieve datas and replace the faulty USB
