Share pc internet w/ wireless laptop

Hello,

My father's PC has an internet connection that goes through the phone line, but is not dial up. What is that called?

And more importantly, how do I get my wireless laptop to tap into that internet service?

do you have a DSL internet connection? You buy a "wireless router" and connect it between the DSL modem and your fathers computer. Configure the router with a SSID and password from the wired connection to your fathers computer. Add that SSID and password to your laptop and you should be connected. Good Luck
