Computer won't turn on - One short beep and then one long beep

Tried removing RAM but didn't work. Any other suggestions?

It is an HP Pavilion. It was given to me by a friend and was working fine yesterday.

Hi

According to HP you have a memory issue:

You ram may be defective. I suggest you clean your sticks with a soft cloth and the slots with compressed air. Ensure the stick are properly inserted. If that does not work, try a new stick.
