Hello,

My Samsung laptop is not detecting the DVD Drive. 1% of the time it detects, But have to give up rest of the times..

Tried the method given above, Went thru the below path:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SYSTEM
CurrentControlSet
Control
Class
{4D36E965-E325-11CE-BFC1-08002BE10318}

But did not find the below parameters to delete:
UpperFilters
LowerFilters
UpperFilters.bak
LowerFilters.bak

Nothing has been mentioned if the above parameters aren't there. What else can be done?

Intermittent detection points to a hardware problem. It's possible you will need to replace the optical drive. or, perhaps remove the drive and clean the contacts.

Good Luck
