Pc boot problem.

Hey friends.
I need your help.
Until today my pc was okay (..it used to freeze sometimes , but at least it was working), but ... TODAY when I switched it on there was no display on the monitor. All the LED lights on the CPU and the monitor were glowing but there was no display. In addition, there was one thing odd that happened... When I switched it on, three quick beep sounds came from inside the CPU. I don't know how (and what) to fix.



Plzzz help.

Three beeps often indicates a memory fault. You can try removing and reinstalling the memory modules. Or running with only on module. It could also indicate a failed motherboard.

What are memory modules?? Simple explanation please.

If you can't identify a memory module then you can;'t fix your computer yourself. I suggest a local PC repair shop.

Okay . I guess it's out of my hands now. So, How much expenditure am I looking at?

My pc runs on only one memory and there are two DIMM slots on the mobo. When I try booting the pc with the memory module inserted in the slot adjacent to the processor, it produces three beeps. When I try booting with the memory in the other slot there are no beeps, but still there is no display on the monitor. What could be the problem?
