Access original Facebook account

Hello,

My friend tried logging into the app on his new phone and inadvertently created a second account and removed the email address from his original account. Every time he tries to login to original account the second account pops up and its as if the original account does not have a phone number or email account attached in order to recover it. The original account does still exist. Please assist.
