I updated to Windows 10 about a year ago. My Canon MP 510 printer has worked ever since. Recently (I think with a Windows auto update) the printer software and driver has been removed from my PC. I have used the original CD and downloaded software in an attempt to reload, but neither will take. While I can replace the printer, which is old (at least 5 years), I don't want to. The message I get from Windows when the wired printer is turned on is: "The last USB device you attached malfunctioned and Windows does not recognize it." This is reasonable with no software or driver. Also, the info from Canon relative to software not taking just sends you in circles. Does anyone know what may have caused the issue and is there any way to resolve it?

Hi

Okay, you can say it, I'm a really nice person, I found your driver right here:

https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/portal/us/home/support/details/printers/support-inkjet-printer/mp-series/pixma-mp510?tab=drivers_downloads#Z7_MQH8HIC0L88RB0AMD0F1Q42K25

But it's no longer available.
