I purchased a new seagate drive. It worked initially well at the first time. While I was taking a back up on it, accidentally I dropped it and it came off the USB post. I think, there is no physical damage, as it fell off from the height of a foot and then when I reconnected, I could hear the whirl of it but now it is not anymore read by the laptop. That means it does not appear in file explorer. But it is seen in the "printers and devices". The pic is attached. I have Windows 10. The "Safely remove the hardware " shows it connected and does eject it but takes a lot of time. Could it be as there is a lot of data, may be 150 GB, copied on the drive? After this, I tried connecting it to another laptop, it wasn't read there too but again "Safely remove hardware " utility was showing me that it was connected. I search a little bit and tried disk management. But when I run it, the tool is not showing any black un-allocated drive. The pic is attached. Appreciate if anyone can help me.

Thanks

A one foot drop is sufficient to damage the disk if the drive is running at the time. I suspect you will need to replace the drive.

Sorry for the bad news
