my laptop will turn on and the window logo with come on then the screen goes blue or black which ever you might want to say. but it stays that way and doesn't do anything else.. please help fix this problem

Try this
1. Remove the battery and cable.
2. Press and hold the power button for 58 seconds.
3. Replug and start.
