Speakers not working

Hello,
I have speakers in my pc screen but on sounds and devices on control panel it says nothing is installed. I just bought a headset aswell and that doesn't work. I have XP.
Please help/

Hye you will have to install the sound driver! this can be found on the driver cd you got with the pc!
