Hello,

I have a problem with my laptop. I was downloading a folder of 54000+ files from a drive to my desktop but I mistakenly downloaded the files into the desktop without a folder and my laptop is finding it hard to load the desktop with the 54000+ files. How can I fix this pls

Hi

Poor laptop, what a pity! It deserves compassion.

I can't see any solution other than wait for windows its opening process with all 54,000 files and then delete all of them...The only other way, I think of, you would find much more displeasing as you would lose all of your data.

Sorry but that's the way the cookie crumbles

Let me know and good luck

YOu could pull the HDD, and put it behind another OS, and clean it up that way. Then the disk will not have to worry about compute, only file system.

Or map a network drive to it, and move it with another PC!

Hi Mark,

Is this a complicated procedure for the common mortal?

Mapping a network drive, no. That is why I Edited my original post, to add in that option.
