Validation Key

So i have a rather unique situation. I have the correct email and password to my account when I go to log in it prompts me to go to my backup email. So I go sign into my backup email and it asks me for a validation key which was sent to the email I was trying to get into in the first place. How is it that I have both passwords and both emails correct yet I am locked out of both accounts. Someone please help.
