Shockwave has crashed

i keeping getting a message saying that my shock wave has crashed or flash has stop working .when i' m in the middle of say a game it starts and stops., starts and stops it doesn't matter if i go to another game or change web site it still does it. i'm NOTa tech. all this is beyond me I really need someone smarter then me to fix this for me something else sync i do know that means or how to use it and the java stripe is working HELP please
