Computer freeze

Hello,
Everytime I start windows XP and try to do anything , My computer freezes and there are all of these multi colered lines in alot of places. i have to go into safe mode. I have no clue why & have done numerous scans for viruses, spyware, etc.

Just try to do a system restore when you are on safe mode... Choose a date when your pc was working normally.
Then Restart your pc when the process is done... Do not forget to update your antivirus and update your windows systems!

I have tried restore and there are not dayes before my computer stated to act up
