I suggest you try to reinstall the audio driver. You can download the AC'97 audio driver from our download page.

I found the similar issue solution on bleeping computer forum from 2010 with the same issue:

Try a system reboot & go to the manufacturer's website and download the closest driver and install in compatibility mode if the driver is not installed.
Or try an audio driver repair:
Press Windows key + R on your keyboard to open Run.
Type devmgmt. ...
In the Device Manager, expand Sound, video, and game controllers then select your outdated driver.
Right-click on it and choose update driver.
When updating is finished, restart your computer to enforce the changes.
