Hello,

I'm using some messages from WhatsApp in legal process, so cannot afford to lose them, for example deleting them by accident.
So I created two accounts in Google Drive, let's say Account 1 and Account 2.
In WhatsApp - Settings - Chats - Chats backup - Backup to Google Drive I defined Account 1 as the Google Acount. Then forced a backup.
Some days later I did the same for Account 2.
So I have two backups on Google Drive, one for Account 1 and other for Account 2.
My question is:
When uninstall and install again the WhatsApp, how can i force the Restore to be made from one account or the other?

Hi,

In your phone's settings, sign out from all your Google accounts and keep you only signed in to the account from which you have the backup to restore. Once you have restored your backup, you can sign in to your other Google accounts.

Thank you for the answer!
Is there anything special to do, any "trick"?
I created Account 1 and Account 2.
Made the first backup using Account 1.
Then, on the side of Google Drive, confirmed the backup was OK.
Changed to Account 2 and made the second backup.
Again, on the side of Google Drive, confirmed it was OK.
Then I tried to restore from the backup of Account 1.
Signed in to Account 1.
Uninstalled WhatsApp then installed it again.
It identified only the backup from Account 2 available to the Restore.
Tried other ways, but it always identified only the backup from Account 2.
Is there anything else that I have to do?

Try this other method. Open Google Drive and at the top right, tap on your profile picture. Select your other Google account to which you want to switch, then uninstall and reinstall WhatsApp.

If it still won't restore the backup of the proper Google account, open your Android Settings and go to Apps > WhatsApp > Storage. Select Clear cache and Clear data and uninstall WhatsApp. Reboot your phone and reinstall WhatsApp. Before your reinstall it, make sure that the proper account is selected in Google Drive.

Hope this helps.

Hi Moderator!
Thank you again for your help.
I've used so much unistall/install that WhatsApp blocked me for 2 hours, than 13 hours, next time it would be 72 hours.
I have to wait something like 2 weeks to return to the tests.
Then I'll tell you the results.
Anyway, I've learned how to backup/restore using the file msgstore.db.crypt12., so I have may messages protected.
But I'll insist on trying to restore using two accounts.
Thank you again for now!
