Stolen phone and hacked my Gmail account

Hello,

My at&t Alcatel phone was stolen. Someone got into my Gmail account and changed my password and the recovery email and I'm sure they changed the phone number associated with my account. However I got a new phone and so I still have my same phone number that was associated with my account when I created it. Surely I can get my Gmail back somehow. I would be so grateful for any help and thanks in advance
