Hello,

I managed to accidentally delete WhatsApp (well my 3 year old did) from my iPhone and the only backup available was from 2014. Now that I’ve restored that obviously everything since then is missing. Is there a way to restore it? I tried a recovery programme which didn’t work.

Thanks in advance!
Jen

Hello, unfortunately if you didn't make any backups since your last one, then no, you will not be able to recover deleted WhatsApp chat history.

You can possibly retrieve specific messages from chats, as the people that you have sent messages to will have a copy of all of the messages you shared with them. There may be a way for your friends to individually send your shared chat history.

Thank you for your reply, I’ve managed to retrieve some chats and images using the export chats function.

What I can’t understand is how I only have a back up from 2014 when I swapped everything over to a new phone earlier this year.

If you still have your old phone, you may be able to do the same process again, to transfer those messages across?

Unfortunately I wiped it and traded it in! I think I might have to accept defeat on this one! ????

Thank you for your help though.
