                    Hi,
Make sure the Bluetooth service is running in the background. Press the Windows + R keys at the same time - type services.msc and click OK.
In the Services window, find Bluetooth Support Service. Right-click on it and go to Properties. Start the service, set the startup type to Automatic and apply the changes. If the service is already running, restart it before applying the changes.
If you can't find Bluetooth, or if it doesn't work, uninstall the Bluetooth drivers. Press Windows + R - type devmgmt.msc. Right-click on your Bluetooth driver and select Uninstall - check Delete the driver software for this device and click Uninstall again.
Uninstall any other Bluetooth drivers by performing the above steps. After that, go to this page to download the drivers for the Acer Aspire 5542 and install them.
Once you've reinstalled the Bluetooth drivers, restart your laptop.
Hope this helps.
Good luck
