Hi,

If your pen drive overheats no matter where you plug it in, check if the connector is clean and not damaged. If this is already the case, a component may have failed inside. Transfer your data elsewhere and buy another pen drive.

If it overheats when you plug it into a particular USB port, check if there is no dust inside that port. If it is clean, the USB port of the host device is probably damaged.

Another thing that may cause overheating is if you write and read data excessively on your pen drive. Note that some pen drives can also get warmer when you use them for a long period of time. But if it overheats even if you don't use it excessively, then consider replacing your pen drive.

Good luck

You should replace it - your pen drive seems to be damaged. When you see the "Scan and fix" message, try clicking on Continue without scanning to access your data and copy them elsewhere.

Good luck

Before you do so make sure you have installed all outstanding updates,
Open the device manager, scroll down to USB hosts and uninstall all hardware drivers (anything with a hardware producer in the name) and then reboot to let Windows install the proper defaults. If you are unsure about which to install take all of them.
