hi! I have an acer aspire one notebook 8.9", I'm having a log in problem in yahoo messenger..it says like log in failed, no reply. I even reformat my laptop using the recovery cd but it still didn't work..can anybody instruct me how to reset and reinstall messenger in this laptop coz i don't really know how..thnx.

Hi, please use Pidgin instead. Windows programs are not made to run in linux but linux has plenty of alternatives for everything you are likely to need. If you hunt around the menu's in Linpus you will probably find that Pidgin is already there.
You might need to open your package manager to find, download and install pidgin but i really think it's in the menu's somewhere.
Also hopefully these 2 guides might help you adjust to moving away from the Windows lock-ins and lack of adequate security
