Hello,
I suggest you try the following. Go to Settings > Privacy and set Last seen and online to Nobody and do the same with the online status by selecting Same as last seen.
Close WhatsApp, then go to your phone's settings > Apps > WhatsApp > Storage and select Clear cache. After that, reopen WhatsApp and set your last seen and online status back to your previous settings (Everyone, My contacts, ...)
