Hi,
To access your backup codes on your Android phone, open Settings > Google and select Manage your Google Account.
Go to Security > 2-Step Verification. Under Backup codes, select Get backup codes or Download your backup codes.
On iPhone, open the Gmail app and go to Menu > Settings > Your name > Manage your Google Account then follow the above steps.
Alternatively, access the My Account page from your web browser.

Thank you for that reply. I did eventually discover a path to the backup codes, similar to the one you outlined.
