How to get disappeared message back ?

Hello, My friend sent me a contact in a whatsapp message a month ago. I read it but did not save the contact. It is now disappeared. I forgot to turn off the disappearing message timer or I had the wrong impression that disappearing message timer does not impact message already read. My friend is now in the other side of the world and I can't easily ask him too send again. Is there any way to get that message back ?

Hi,

Unfortunately, disappearing messages cannot be recovered... Even if the message has been backed up before it disappears, it will be deleted once you restore your backup.

You may only retrieve it if that message was forwarded to a chat with disappearing messages off, or if that message is quoted in your response.
