Using new phone, cannot get code ...

Hello, recently bought a new Samsung phone, previously used Huawei.  Used Whatsapp on the Huawei.  Took my SIM out of Huawei and put it into Samsung, to keep my phone number.  Trying to log into Whatsapp on the Samsung, it seems it will only send the verification code to the old Huawei phone, which is dead.  It says it cannot call me.  So how do I get the verification code?  I am using the same telephone number as before.
