After downloading a song from iTunes, and connecting my iPod, I see the song under the “Music Playlists” which is below my current playlists on my iPod.

When I attempted to drag it to one of the playlists on the iPod, nothing happens.

When I open the song in the new playlist and attempt to copy and paste it to my playlist I get a message stating “This computer is not authorized to play it”, it asks for my Apple ID and password, once entered it now says my computer “is authorized”, however aI am still unable to play the song.

Next steps???

Hi,

On iTunes, select the icon of your iPod in the menu and go to Summary. Under the "Options" section, check Manually manage music and videos then click Apply

Once done, try again to transfer your music.

Thanks for the reply, however once at Summary, then checking Manually manage music and videos I do not see Apply anywhere. I do see (Done in the lower right corner) and get a Reset Warning….

Click Sync to synchronize your iPod with iTunes, then Done. Also, for a full management, uncheck Sync only checked songs and videos if it is enabled.
