Hello, I am having a major problem with Civilization Beyond the Sword. I have Civilization 4 and play it all the time. I decided to buy Beyond the Sword today. It installed without a problem however when I started the game it went into a choppy loop when the 2K symbol came up on the screen. I went and installed the 3.19 patch and it still chops up and freezes on startup. To make matters worse when I went back to play my original Civilization 4 it does the same thing now. Civ 4 had always played on my PC before but now it is doing the same thing as BTS.

I am stumped and will take all the help I can get. I know someone on here knows how to fix this.

I am using a Dell Dimension 2400 with a 2.8GHz Pentium 4, 1 Gig of Ram, and a Nvidia Geforce 5200 with the latest drivers

hi,

there may be a problem with the new one installed.

uninstall it and then try to open the original one (the one you had before).

if the same thing persists, then you may try to do a system restore.

set the computer to an earlier setting before you installed the game.

Uninstall everything and start from the beginning, maybe it's the patch...

OK I did all of that including a system restore and it didnt work. I even uninstalled my Nvidia drivers and that didnt work.

My VGA Monitor port on the back of my CPU went out last week so I ended up having to connect my monitor to the VGA port in the bcak of my Nvidia Video card in the back of my CPU. My PC started acting this way when I did that.

Could that be the problem? I dont see how though because it is a VGA port same as whats on the back of my CPU.
