MSN partly logged in Closed

Question

Hello,
Trying to assist a friend of mine with a MSN problem that is driving me nuts.

Running XP and Live2009
Can log in from both local installation and browser but...
When logging in on local compter we do net get published as online and we do not get hooks to online / offline contacts.
If we start the browswer version of Live in parrallel then the local installation goes online...
We have tried reparing the installation. but does no change in behaviour.

Ideas on how to come around the need of 2 login?

hi,

uninstall the sotware and then reinstall it.

this should solve the problem.

or if this is the latest version, try a previous version.

Tried to uninstall, run virus scan and then install again (latest version though), problem persists.
we can add contacts but they do not appear in the list on the "front page" neither can we add them there even though they appear in the list available through the menu for editing.
I tried to remove the folder windows live contacts and let live recreate it completely, unfortunately ...

Which version do you reccomend I roll back to? or any other tips for that sake ...
