Hello,
I just need some help with my iPod nano (3rd generation). I bought it about a year ago, maybe more, and it's always had glitches, but now the hold button is screwed up.

The effects vary. If I slide hold to the "on" position (yes, I always make sure it's there properly) and then stuff it in a handbag or something, I check it a few hours later to find that the play button must've been pressed despite hold being on because my battery is non-existant and I can hear my latest purchase from iTunes coming out of the headphones. Sometimes it responds to touch and pressing buttons, only touch, or only buttons. Completely unpredictable. Mostly the little padlock icon comes up in the menu bar when hold is on, as usual, but hold itself seems to be failing, as described above. This icon is sometimes not there and it sometimes flashes occasionally.

I love my iPod, and I wouldn't get a new one. Having said that, it would be nice to be able to stuff it into my jeans and listen to a good song without it turning the volume up ridiculously loud or changing the song as soon as I sit down.

This has been going on for a couple of months. Please help if you can, it would be hugely appreciated.

Thanks,
Catherine

I think you definitely have to go see an engineer or a technician for this problem... can't help you more than that.
