Need help retriving pic, music, and documents

Hello,
I left my lap top on stand by over night and the next morning I went to use it and my desktop picture was gone and all my pictures, musice and documents were erased. My settings for the internet were erased too. I was now using internet explorer7. I don't know anything about computers. So any help I could get is appericated. Thank you

hi,

try to do a system restore:

>start

>all programs

>accessories

>system tools

>system restore

follow tha wizard and then select a date before all the probelm started.
