How to connect linux server with windows xp

i have connected windows server to windows xp client stil now ,creating users, group policy, check connection between windows server and client and etc...........but now i want to connect linux server with windows xp client
please tell me how to connect it and creating users, group policy, domian join of client etc..........some basic notes
