Cannot conncect to the internet,need a driver

Hello,
I got a virus on my computer and it messed up everything on my netowrk card. I went under device manger and went to network adapters there and I clicked it. It said that their was a problem under code 31. I dont know what that is but I can only assume I need to install a driver for it. Now the problem is with that is, I cannot connect to the internet so I can go on and install on online. Can I download it to my USB from another computer and put it on my computer? I dont know. Any Help would be greatly appricieated.

yes you can download it from another pc

and install from usb

give more information on the computer model

Well the computer was custom built by a friend. I just know that it runs on Windows XP Home Edition. The driver I need is this, "Realtek RTL8169/8110 Family Gigabit Ethernet NIC." I went under Task Manager and went under connections and it said, "No Network Adapters Found." I really dont know how to fix it. Can I just buy a new Network Card or can I have someone try to reconfigure all the settings of netowork? Thanks
