headphones work speakers do not Solved/Closed

Hello,
I have a compaq with windows vista. I have no sound but when I plug my headphones in there is sounds. how do I get my speakers to work.  nothing is muted.

check the jack connection from your 

pc to speaker

I have a Dell that does this. If I plug in my headphones my laptop speakers won't work again once the headphones have been removed. 

Go to volume control, advanced controls for volume control and then ensure that in the Other Controls section 1 PC Spk Mute is not selected.

Headphones work speakers do not
