Usb stick does not appear in windows explorer

Hello,

this has never happend to me before, the whole started when i installed the ubuntu via virtualbox in my computer.

the problem is that when i inser the usb stick, i can see "USB Mass Storage Device" under "Universal Serial Bus controllers" in Computer managemant. But nothing happens in the Windows explorer. Before when i inserted it, a windows poped up with several options like if i wanted to view all files on the memorycard etc...

i'll appreciate it very much if somebody could help me on this
