Making an online profile for call of duty 4

Hello,

whenever i try to play on multiplayer, call of duty 4 i mean, it says i have to make an online profile.
I go there and write something for my online profile, but when i click on OK, it says again " you need to make an online profile in order to play.... blah blah!"
what should i do?
