Hello,
I have an old gateway desk top. Was working fine one day the next, I turn it on and it says no operating system. How can I fix this?

this sounds like a broken or disconnected hard disk. You could try removing and then replacing the cables that connect to the hard disk. Unplug the computer power cord 1st. Sometimes as the computer ages the connections will degrade and stop working. It's a long shot but sometimes it works.

If the hard disk has failed - then you will need to replace it and reinstall Windows

Good Luck
