                    ok, simple to fix ...... theoreticaly :-)
all you need do is run a chkdsk on your machine.
to do this, do the following
go to this link
https://www.hirensbootcd.org/
download the bootcd
burn to disk
boot your system using this cd, on the menu select 'start mini windows xp'
this will boot into an xp environment.
from there open a dos box, type this command, assuming that your hdd can be found it will be drive c:
chkdsk /r c:
this will do a chkdsk on your drive and repair any errors that it can.
on reboot, you should be able to access your hdd as normal.
any problems get back here for advice.
