please check well ur connections and adjust the brightness and if it persist it means that ur monitor is damaged dear but if it works get back to me

I am also facing this same problem which wat u have. I too changed the memory with a new one. After that when I try to boot my system, sometimes, display shows nothing. But system might working.
I came to know via my friends dat this problem coz of my old xp 32 bit does not support the current new memory which is 4 GB of RAM. So we have to install XP 64 bit or else go for vista 64 bit.
