Hello,
my hard drive crashed a sony 80GB drive and I am replacing it with 320 gb pc is pavillion a210n . here is the issues I put drive in and its not being seen by bios , cheanged jumper setting to everything that the manual and manuf site says to use still no good. I then checked to see of the hard drive would be seen on the secondary cable and yes it is , If I put the hard drive on the primary cable with out the secondary devices connected the bios see the hard drive. but once the secondary devices are connected the hard drive is not seen any more

You must have only one MASTER or one SLAVE device on a single IDE cable. You can also set both IDE devices to Cable Select (CL) if you motherboard supports this option. I would examine the other device (CD or DVD drive) to determine it's setting. Then, set your hard drive to the opposite jumper setting.

Good Luck

I see now. That is a strange problem. Have you removed the CMOS battery? If you remove the battery for a least 30 seconds it will erase the BIOS settings. That might be enough to allow the BIOS to see your hard drive.
