Windows vista not wrking

Hello,
iam incountering a problem with my HP vista laptop...it says " A problem caused the program to stop working corrcetly. windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is avaiable.

the screen goes blue n no reply...

can anyone suggets me a solution..

Can you boot into safe mode? Press F8 multiple times during the first stages of booting. If you can get to the screen then do a "repair"
